Fax machines continue to play an important part in business communication.
This is evident in the continuing development of fax technology by
many world class suppliers. The choice may seem daunting but Rocom
has the expertise, and the range of options, to help you choose the
model of fax machine that is right for you.
Plain Paper Fax Machines
Plain Paper is now the norm in commercial applications. Unlike fax machines using
thermal printing paper, images are permanent and reproduction quality exceptionally
high. While prices continue to fall, value added features, which formerly commanded
a premium, are now standard with most plain paper fax machines. Plain Paper fax
machines use Ink Film, Ink Jet or Laser/LED technology.
Ink
Film Fax Machines
Ink Film fax machines work by transferring print through a replaceable ink-covered
ribbon which ensures a fixed cost per copy. It’s ideal for low volume usage.
Ink
Jet Fax Machines
Ink Jet fax machines use a replaceable ink cartridge which, while it does not
offer a fixed cost per copy, has the advantage of superior print quality over
ink film machines. It is also less expensive when receiving documents with low
print density.
Laser
Fax Machines
Laser fax machines offer the ultimate in quality. They are fast, high quality,
durable and offer a very low cost per copy. Most models can also be used as a
laser printer.
Multi-Functional Fax Machines
Outstandingly versatile, multifunctional fax machines combine several features
in one – typically fax, scanner, printer and copier. By linking a multifunctional
fax to a PC, users can take full advantage of faxing or printing straight from
the PC as well as, in some cases, full colour scanning, printing and copying.
Optional network cards are available on some models to allow direct connection
to an existing LAN/WAN. This enables the fax machine to be used as a network
printer; thus saving money and space reserved for a separate printer and fax
machine.
E-mail/ Web
Compatibility
Many fax machines now have built in e-mail and web compatibility allowing users
to print and download web pages and send e-mails or scanned documents as TIFF
e-mail attachments.
Super G3
Super G3 is at the cutting edge of Fax technology. With a 33.6Kbps modem, Super
G3 fax machines can reach transmission speeds of as little as two seconds for
an A4 page.
Fax Consumables
Rocom stocks a full range of fax cartridges and ribbons to suit any type of machine. Ink
Film Ribbons offer a fixed cost per copy because, regardless of the amount of
coverage on a page, they will still measure an A4 length of ribbon. Therefore,
dividing the cost of the ribbon by the yield allows each A4 sheet to be costed. Ink
Jet Cartridges are quoted at yielding a 5% coverage on a black and white or full
colour fax machine. Depending on the type of full colour Ink Jet fax machine,
either one cartridge combining black and three colours or four separate cartridges
will be required.
Laser Toner Cartridges & Drums
All yields are quoted at
5% coverage. A combined toner and drum unit, or separate toner and separate drum
will be required dependent on the make and model of the fax machine.
