Avoira Partners Cyber Security Solutions Specialist To help Businesses Tackle Rising Ransomware Threat
Posted on November 19, 2020
In response to a significant rise in ransomware attacks, technology solutions specialist Avoira has struck a new partnership with Danish cyber security experts Bullwall.
The agreement means Avoira clients can now benefit from Bullwall’s sophisticated anti-ransomware solution, RansomCare. This provides automated, around-the-clock protection to immediately halt the spread of malware when an organisation’s perimeter cyber security has been breached.
It works by identifying and isolating a breached device to prevent further encryption of files. Because it identifies both the targeted user and the files encrypted, RansomCare also enables swift restoration from back-up to further support business continuity.
The deal with Bullwall comes as the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) reported a “significant rise in ransomware attacks.” In revised guidance, the NCSC has recommended deployment of a “defence in depth” strategy through implementation of “multiple defensive layers” so that “if one mechanism fails, another is there to thwart the attack.”
“The timing of this this partnership with Bullwall is not coincidental. What we are jointly advocating is the “defence in depth” advocated by the latest NCSC annual review commented Avoira’s managing director, Andrew Roberts. “Now, with ransomware more of a threat than ever, it’s important that our clients have access to the most sophisticated cyber security solutions.”
He added that RansomCare solutions will be delivered by cyber security experts from Avoira’s Bury HQ, as well as through Yellowbus, the Warrington-based managed IT and cloud services specialist it acquired in September.
Welcoming the agreement, Bullwall co-founder and CEO Michael Slipsager said: “We see Avoira as a strong partner and are excited to see this partnership moving forward. In these challenging times we all have to help one another, and by partnering with Avoira, we can help UK organisations stay safe from predatory cyber criminals and prevent them suffering further disruption and stress in what are already difficult times.”
To mark the partnership, Avoira is offering public and private sector organisations a free ransomware assessment. Conducted remotely by cyber security experts, the two-hour evaluation tests if existing security defences will prevent a ransomware attack.
Assessments can be arranged by emailing email@example.com or calling 0161 925 7679.
